INDIAN PIPES
Monotropa uniflora Wintergreen Family  Pyrolaceae
June - October infrequent
Description: From 4 to 10 inches tall. Leaves are scale like with no chlorophyll, pipes are unique, translucent and waxy. Flowers are nodding can be white or pink turning blackish later. Parasitic, living off other plants such as trees. Grows in a few to large clusters. It contains a poisonous substance.
