Description:
Tree: Small flat or rounded head 15 to 20 feet high,
trunk 10 to 12 inches in diameter.
Bark: Grayish or redish brown, scaly.
Leaves: 3 to 5 inches long, heart shaped, bright
yellow in autumn. Leaves appear after flowering.
Flowers: 1/2 inch long sessile umbels: corolla pink purple.
Appearing before the leaves, majenta in color, buds are
somewhat red.
Fruit: Pod 2.5 to 3.5 inches long , seed oblong, 1/4 inch.
Use: Ornamental, wood of litttle or no commercial use.
