WHITE BEARD TONGUE
Penstemon                     Snapdragon Family  Scrophulariaceae
May - July Infrequent
Description: From 2 to 4 feet tall, Leaves are long and slender tapering to a point, toothed, paired and stalkless.  Flowers are clusters stalked  raising in pairs from upper leaf axis. Flowers are tubular, 5 lobed, one of the stamens has tufted hairs hence the name "beard tongue. There are 8 different whitish species in are area making a difficult genus to identify. This is a genus of  Fox Glove Bearded Tongue;Digitalis
