Dayflower (Commelina communis)

Commelina communis Spiderwort Family  Commelinaceae
June - October common
Description: From 6 inches to2 feet tall. Leaves are ovate and somewhat thick with the base sheathing the stem. Flowers have 2 upper petals larger than the lower one, which supports curved stamens, lower petal is white in this species. Spathe is heart shaped.

Location: Roadsides, Moist woods
